Phil Maxfield is a co-founder of Impact Recruiting and has spent the last decade helping to build internet startups. He has developed a personal brand based on professionalism, industry knowledge, and transparent communication. Phil has an Industrial Engineering degree from CSU- East Bay where he also studied computer science. Growing up on the North Shore of Oahu, he learned to love and respect the ocean. He holds a black belt in Judo, is a certified sailor and loves training for triathlons with his black lab, Kane.

Tim Harwood is a co-founder of Impact Recruiting and has been working in the human capital space for over a decade. He began his career with a startup in the online gaming analytics space before moving into the world of recruiting. Tim’s passions include entrepreneurship, sailing, world travel, body boarding, backgammon, and the Golden State Warriors. He serves on the Advisory Board for the non-profit mentorship organization, Spark, and also as a brand advisor for Yacht Legends. Tim holds a bachelors degree from Tulane in History and an MBA from UC Berkeley, Haas School of Business.

GP Panawek is a partner at Impact Recruiting and brings both a naturally inquisitive personality and a lifelong passion for emerging technologies to the recruiting process. With a background in technology sales, GP understands the rhythm and follow through required to get things accomplished. GP is a graduate of UC Berkeley, where he captained the water polo team and earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy. A former professional water polo player, GP continues to follow his passion for athletics, serving as the head water polo coach at San Francisco’s Saint Ignatius High School. Personal interests include photography, social service, bodysurfing, cooking with his fiancé and adventuring with his dog, Aloe.

Garrett Mclaughlin came to San Francisco via Sydney, Australia. In Sydney, Garrett worked with a VC fund that specialized in tech startups operating within the mobile, digital media, and eCommerce spaces. His career began in finance, where he spent 6 years on the buy side for funds in California as well as New York City. Garrett also serves as a patent consultant for Connected Patents and as a mentor for the Thiel Foundation 20under20 Fellowship program. In addition to his passion for startups, Garrett loves to surf and travel the world with his wife, Sarah. Garrett holds a degree from Tulane University in International Business and an MBA from the Austrailian Graduate School of Management at UNSW.

Dave Beer brings over a decade of sales and management experience to the Impact Recruiting team. He began his career in software sales where he honed his skills and developed an interest in the world of startups. After a successful run in software sales, Dave followed his passion for the music business, managing merchandising campaigns for the biggest names in Rock n Roll, including Primus, Ween, the Scorpions, Michael Franti, and 50 Cent. Dave is a graduate of James Madison University with a degree in International Business. An accomplished lacrosse player and avid surfer, he lives at Ocean Beach with his wife and dog enjoying the beauty of the Outer Sunset.

JJ Harris brings to the Impact Recruiting team a focused determination and unwavering positivity. JJ hails from Chicago and began his career as a data analyst in the HR field. After several years immersed in the data of human capital, JJ had the desire to move into the field of recruiting where he could utilize his passion for connecting with people. JJ has a bachelors degree in Communications from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and he runs a burgeoning videography/photography company, Techboogie Media. He is also an avid cyclist and indoor rock climber.
